How does a con con help us?

The Micghigan Constitution calls for an automatic proposal every 16 years for the voters to hold a Constitutional Convention. Michigan has had six constitutional conventions (1835, 1850, 1867, 1873, 1907/08 and 1961/62). The last convention was held in 1961-62 giving us the current constitution that had been preceded by the 1908 constitution. After our society and economy changes so substantially it becomes time to revisit and revise the manner in which our government functions.

If you believe our government is less interested in serving the people and more interested in their own interests then it is time to correct the government. A constitutional convention is the lawful way the citizens are able to make large scale repairs to how we are governed.

Here are some of the questions people are asking:
1) Is the government too large?
2) Is there too much control of the local governments by the state?
3) Is there too much influence by special interests?
4) Is our educational system in need of a major overhaul?
5) Did term limits accomplish their goals?
6) Are taxes out of control?
7) Does the township system function as needed?
8) Why are budgets not approved before the beginning of the budget year?
9) Why are key educational and judicial posts nominated by political parties but on the non-partisan ballot?
